Azevinho

In many western cultures, holly is a traditional Christmas decoration, used especially in wreaths. In heraldry, holly is used to symbolise truth. In many species the different parts of the plant are quite toxic. Berries attract birds that eat them after the frosts have reduced toxicity.

Note: I don't know the original quilt author. If anyone knows, please contact so I can post credits.

  2. I didn't realize the frost reduces the toxicity so the birds may enjoy the berries. I always wondered why some berries seemed to stay on the plant so long!
